Orrin is a working class Photographer from Blackburn, currently based in Manchester. His work is concerned with the relationship between people and place, and the environments that they surround themselves with. A prominent theme in his work are spaces that sit on the intersection between the natural and the constructed - the interplay between these two forces, and the people that find themselves there.
Orrin's work takes an Editorial & Documentary Portraiture approach, focusing on building a connection with his sitters, through a considered and personal process. He's drawn to learning about people's lives and backgrounds, finding what makes us unique, and exploring how our circumstances form who we are. He primarily works with an analogue workflow, which encourages an intimate process and helps at times to separate the photographer from the camera.
Orrin also delivers photographic workshops exploring alternative and analogue techniques He is part of Obscura Collective, which focuses on producing analogue photography-focused projects & events.
